Desira Pesta is an East Coast bred artist who was raised by two bikers in the woods of PA. She spent the early part of her life driving tractors, bulldozers, & trucks. She started drawing, painting, writing, reupholstering furniture & sewing at a young age, in lieu of “normal” activities. Desira received a BFA in Fine Art Painting from Syracuse University. As a self-taught seamstress, she started her own small sustainable fashion line in Brooklyn in 2005 and sold throughout the US, Australia, U.K. & Japan. Favoring writing plays and performing them in lieu of fashion shows with actors, as well as staging scripted photoshoots, she realized costume design was her place in life. Desira is an avid cook, wanderlust, and voracious reader and one day she will own a pet pig.
